It is a little known fact that most of the people I send Christmas cards to do not read my blog, and most of the people who do read my blog, I do not send Christmas cards to. I say little known because it is not uncommon for our family to change the subject or (believe it or not) pretend that they actually have been reading the blog, when in fact, I know that they have not. I know they have not, because usually the conversation about the blog follows an inquiry on something I have recently posted about. Had they been checking us out, they would know, and I would get to avoid retelling the same stories several times, which is actually the reason I began the blog in the first place. So, to those of you, faithful viewers that you are, I decided to go ahead and offer, as a reward, a little sneak peek of our Christmas photo shoot at Lanikai Beach. Yay You! Thanks for giving me a purpose!
This is Lanikai Beach. Can you even believe it's for real! It is our favorite scenic beach. It's great for swimming too - the water is usually warmer, and (obviously) so blue, but the sand is so fine (and so soft!) that is sticks everywhere, and there are no showers. It makes things a little more difficult with the cuties. Last time we had to use water bottles to rinse off. It makes great pictures though!
Since the beach is on the east side of the island, we (I) wanted to go at sunrise to take advantage of the good lighting, but it didn't work out, so we ended up with harsh lighting and a stranger framing the shot. I still love the scene, but just know that it could have been so much better.

You would think after two years, running from the camera would get old. For, Owen it's a professional sport.

Beautiful photos Sjauna. I'm kind of catching the photography bug but don't have the great camera that you do. Better start saving I guess.
We miss you guys! You'd better believe I'll be calling you on Monday!! Seeing these pics makes me still crazy jealous and almost wanting to cry! So beautiful! We can't wait to have you guys back! (even though I'm sure you don't want to come back)
I am so jealous! It looks so beautiful! I think that is one impressive photo considering the obstacles involved. Nate and I pretty much stayed near waikiki (sorry about spelling) because his sister was living there at the time. What an incredible memory. Can't wait to see you guys again.
