Weekend Getaway and Pictures of Me

I took a quick trip last weekend. Alone.
Can you guess where I went?

Here's a hint: First I stopped in Salt Lake City for an hour layover, which turned into a two and a half hour layover.
All that time traveling all alone. I didn't know what to do with myself. Thankfully, Amy lent me a knitting mystery to pass the time.
And of course, I had my camera.
(just for the record, I was embarrassed about the knitting book and about taking pictures out the airplane window, but I'm telling you about it, so you don't have to be embarrassed next time you fly alone and have nothing to do. and the knitting book was actually quite entertaining. maybe I'll pick up knitting. or maybe just another knitting mystery.)
Okay, so I flew to Los Angeles for my friend's wedding! It was so much fun! Did I mention I went alone? And did I mention it was so much fun! Dave was out of town for work, so our friends, Amy and Tyler watched the kiddies (I know what you're thinking, and I totally agree. She lent me a knitting book and watched my kids. I'm telling you, I've got some great friends!).
Here I am performing pretty much my one and only bridesmaid duty for the weekend (aren't bridesmaids technically not married? is there another term for a bridesmaid who is married? anyway...). It turns out getting in late on Friday night and leaving early Sunday morning doesn't leave much time to help out for a wedding. Really, it's Heather's fault though. If she hadn't been so dang organized and planned such an amazing reception, then maybe something could have gone wrong, and I could have rushed in and saved the day instead of mingling and enjoying myself, catching up with old friends the whole time. Come on Heather, give me a break.
Here I am messing around instead of paying attention like I should be. That's what having kids will do to you - teach you how not to focus on the task at hand. Or is that just me?
The photographer was really creative, and I can't wait to see how the pictures turn out!
(and to see if I'm actually smiling normally in any of them ~ sorry Heather!)
The Mystic Tan Trio.
(how else do three white people get so dark in January? well, I guess Heather and Cody live in southern california. and me? well, I'm just naturally tan. of course. don't be jealous.)
Cody and Heather have been engaged for a long time, so I was especially excited to be there for their wedding. And it was beautiful! And so much fun! I wasn't there for long, and I missed my family, but I am so glad I went! Thanks for getting married guys! You're going to love it!
My fantastic hosts/chauffeurs/photographers/personal assistants. Thanks guys! You're the best!
Good-bye California. I'll miss you and your perfect January weather.

Your airplane pictures are really good. What type of a camera do you have (of course, I think you are probably most definitely talented with taking pictures).

You were an excellent bridesmaid...I didn't want you gals to have to work, just wear a pretty dress and be in pictures with me! :)

Great pictures...I love the one of the three of us...we're only missing Dave. :(

I have a Nikon D40 (digital slr) camera. And I love it! The first and the last pictures (of LA) were edited in Picasa (now mac friendly-er), and the two of SLC I attempted to edit with some other photo editing software that I don't really know how to use yet. at least I was able to edit out the black dust specks in those ones. Apparently something needs to be cleaned.
