Extreme Home Makeover: Gingerbread Edition

Another tradition... maybe we will continue this, maybe not. I would like to get better at perfecting royal icing (or have Dave get better at it, since he was the one that made it... details...). We a couple of our peeps over (wish we had room for more) to construct gingerbread (or graham cracker... again with the details...) houses.

Okay, really..... picture number one is an a-frame tent scene, complete with snow and a lamp post. Number two is Evelynn's idea of a gingerbread house. No, I'm not kidding. I tried to stand the graham crackers up for her, but she wanted none of that. She wanted to make "cookies", so I put a dab of frosting on a few graham crackers and she just piled the candy on. If she could build a house, I wonder what it would look like. Number three is a Swiss chalet overlooking the Snake River in Burley, Idaho. Well, not really. It's Dave's six-sided something or other. He was the last one to start, so he saw everyone else's falling apart and made some adjustments. Nice job, honey.

Here's another one... notice the stone pathway leading up the nilla wafer crumb (?) lawn. Excellent attention to details here. These builders said the key to building a great gingerbread house is to first build a real house... HA! Yeah, like that's ever going to happen!
